Just picked this up
I just brought this home on sunday. 66 longbed, got it for $1000 runs great and drives smooth, it will become my daily in the next few weeks. Already started working out the dings and a couple small rust spots. Hope to have body primed and roof pearled in the next 3 weeks.

You stole that truck for $1000. What a deal!!! Order your self some OG hubs from lmctruck.com. The classic rust locations aren't bad. What a steal for $1000. I would't pass that one up!

Its got a 305 under the hood and a powerglide tranny. It runs great just had it on the freeway tonight 70 mph no problem. I know it was a great deal for 1000 the guy was asking 1500 he took 1000 with no haggling. He needed money for a trip. As for the rust it is very minamal, no rust in the floors or cab, only in the fenders and doors, I have already patched it up with new metal I will be doing bodywork tommorow. As for the style I am going for a westcoast OG look Cross bars, whitewalls and maybe fender skirts. I'll post some pics of my progress.

Yea the spot works, its a nice truck. I sold a 62 a few months ago for 1000 in alot worse shape than this one. I couldn't pass it up. I was trying to concentrate on my impala build but it was too good of a deal. I'm almost done with the body work hopefully it will be in primer this weekend.

Yea I'm in california in Murrieta, halfway between San diego and L.A. I got some pics I'll download them tommorow and try to post them up. I'll either be spraying primer tommorow or going to some Pick a Parts looking for a new fender.
