Bumpers?

Looking at some different options for a rear bumper.

Currently my truck has this style (mine is all bent up and looks like crap):

I'm seeing this one though that I like a lot more:

Seems to stick out a lot less and looks better in general, what years/models is this from. Is it a blazer thing? If so, what's involved in changing to this style?

Re: Bumpers?

tis a sports bumper, if you want one you also need the brackets for it off the donor truck, AFAIK they are different from what you got now.

Re: Bumpers?

This is actually the STOCK bumper for the trucks. It is also a stock bumper for a Blazer or Suburban. Yours is a step bumper and the brackets won't work with the stock version. You can find them in the salvage yard or you can buy them new, we have them in the catalog (bumpers and brackets)

Re: Bumpers?

I just finished this swap (actually went from step to roll pan then to sport bumper). Unless you can find them in the junk yard, the brackets will set you back more than the bumper itself. Gotta love the way it looks, though. A couple of places sell the 74-80 brackets as a kit (a little cheaper), but they'll nail you on the 81-87 piece-by-piece.

Re: Bumpers?

Thanks for the info guys, now I know what to look for. The junkyards around here are pretty good and well priced. I will definitely try to pick one of these bumpers up.

Originally I thought a rollpan would be the way to go, but after looking at some picture's I think I like the bumper better.
