Question Option/Accessories Codes

Does anyone know of a site online that can decode the option numbers that are listed on the glove box door;(the potential seller sent me the codes but not what they are for)
Thanks
Tim

I don't know of an internet site, but if enough people can post pictures of their options list, maybe you can figure them all out.

Here's mine.

Thank you MStokes,
That is an impressive set of options on your truck; sounds like a great truck; I was able to locate some of the codes on the list I have; the remaining codes are:
J70
DG4
G13
YG7
PA1
G60
F60
F51
If anybody else knows these Iwould appreciate it
Thanks again MStokes

MStokes, I'm not really sure about my question, maybe that's the way it's supposed to be. But why does you truck have HD Rear Springs as an option but then also the Rear Leaf Spring option?

Would that be for the helper leaf spring that some coil trucks have?

I don't know enough about the truck to answer that question. I do know that the original owner converted it to a 4WD by using 1/2-ton Blazer parts. I know the rear axle is not original, but I'm not sure about the springs or the original options the truck came with.

I have heard of the Grapefruit Yellow color but thought my truck was too dark a yellow for grapefruit. My options list says 549 White/Dark Yellow. Does this look like an original color that would have been offered on a 72? I have not found any evidence that the truck has ever been repainted.

This one seems to be reasonable on the price.

Yours defenitely is not grapefruit color. Mine is. Grapefruit color is somewhat of a mix between mostly light yellow with maybe a little green mixed in. It has been called many unflattering names, but it is what it is and it isn't going to change. I think the HD option on the leaf springs just adds one leaf to the already present leaf pack. Mine has the same options for leafs.

How many individual leafs does each of your springs have? If you can let me know, then I can compare that to what I have and may be able to tell if they were changed out when the rest of the rear end was converted.

Thanks.

Mstokes your color is listed as Wheatland Yellow. The 549 includes the white with the color combo but your Yellow is listed as 519 if it was one color.
I have all the options listed on a Spreadsheet (I think) that somebody posted a long time ago and it's broken into about four pages. It's long so if somebody wants a copy of it I can email to all interested parties at the same time.

I tried to post the paint chip for 72 but my links aren't working.

lol, now I know my truck is a plain jane. I have three options--heater, heavy duty rear springs (with coils), and a painted rear bumper.

This 72 GMC has a factory yellow color not sure of the code but it could be the Grapefruit you referred to.

Man I need to get a digital camera. Here is my options list, some abbreviations may be a little different than what is actually on the sticker.

A28 R window sliding glass
B85 Belt Moulding
DG4 Below eyeline mirror
G50 Heavy rear spring
J70 Hydralic Brake booster
M49 Turbo hydramatic
PO1 Full wheel covers
VK2 Tool and stowage box
Z84 Cheyenne equipment
621 Saddle Vin cust trim
A11 tinted glass
BX2 Body side moulding-lower
C60 4 season air cond
F59 Front stabilizer
G70 Rear susp-leaf
LS9 350 CU IN V-8 engine
N40 power steering
U63 AM pushbutton radio
Z53 AMM-OIL-TEMP gauges
576 med olive/light yellow

The rear spring packs have 5 leafs total each side, counting the short thick one.

Looking at the factory literature, the light yellow mine has is the grapefruit yellow. Hutch, that pickup appears to be the grapefruit yellow.

I don't know if being a 4x4 makes a difference on how many leafs pickup has or not. I parted another chevy that had the G50 and G70 options and it had 5 leafs like mine does. I parted one other that had the G70 listed and did not have the G50 listed and it had only 4 leafs. I know of people that have added several leafs to up the load limit of a pickup. It's hard to tell what is original.
