brake booster?

I have a lumpy cam, enough that I need a vacuum canister. After I routed that in, the brakes worked better (but still not great). Since then I get an intermittent sound like a coffee can with a dozen nuts in it coming from the area of the booster. (I need to add a vac guage at the can.)

Could it make noise like that? Would installing a vac can cause or speed it's failure?

Brakes still generally work OK, seemingly regardless of sound. Although this afternoon, I had to get on the brakes when backing in. Was not going fast.

Also: I have the same "sucking" sound as described in post 2 <<http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/showthread.php?t=258480>>

Thanks-

-Todd

Re: brake booster?

Rhoads Lifters will tame your vacuum problems and no vacum can needed, but the ticking sound of the lifters annoy some people. Personally, I love it.

Re: brake booster?

Wow, they're pretty cool. Thanks, Dave. Simple concept, makes sense.

If anyone else is interested in more info, here's their FAQ-
