1984 diesel steering column?

I have a 84 1 ton with the 6.2 diesel, the ignition and internals are trashed and need a new column. Is it the same wiring as the gas models of the same year? Need to know to go junkyard hunting! thanks.....

What's trashed? If just the ignition cylinder and key, replacement is relatively simple. GM still sells the parts and all you really need is a puller.
