Transmission mount on 65 chevy

I installed a turbo 400 behind my SBC and just kind of guested on how to align it as far as up and down. It's cobbled together and I would like to know the proper way to set the tranny in place. I've positioned it in two places and both seem to work OK. Do I need the driveline set to a certain angle in relation to the rear end? Also, does someone make a bolt-in aftermarket transmisison mount?

Thanks
Mark

If you have the stock crossmember from an automatic truck you can just use that with a stock 400 tranny mount. I believe the Th350,400, and 700R4's all use the same mount.

Re: Transmission mount on 65 chevy

I just put a turbo 400 behind my 454. All I did was slide the stock transmission crossmember back and drilled new holes in the frame. I was having a new driveshaft made becuase of going from the 235 to the 454.
