Another alt question - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I have searched some of the old posts for an answer but I have not had much luck. I would like to put a one wire alt on my pickup ('70 402 cid) and need some help. I need to know which alternator to get (what year and model) and I need some help with mounting options (will I have to change the mounts?). Thanks and sorry to post yet another charging system question.

Thanks for the post, I suppose going with a one wire setup is not very logical, especially since I was looking at a 100 amp alternator with the old case design. I guess the question I have is what alternator (internally regulated) would fit my application best without having to change the brackets? My charging system is shot (alt, regulator, and wiring), so I am looking for a simple alternative until I can afford a serpantine belt setup (with a newer style alternator). Thanks

p used one off an 83 chevy k10 with 350 paid 38 buxs for mine 60 amps was plenty for me http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=119379
