WIW factory original paint 72 4x4 SWB

WIW?
I have decided to make some inventory adjustments in my life so I threw my pride and joy on evilbay to see what the market is. What do you guys think something like this is worth? I had never seen anything close to this condition in all my years and that is this loaded and rust free original and then to be a 4x4 Cheyenne short box. And it has so much original documentation.
Mods: If this is in the wrong place please move it but I would like to see what some diehard stock original enthusiasts would say.

That is a very nice truck. You should be able to get a good chunk of that 25 grand for it, anyways. Good luck.

Re: WIW factory original paint 72 4x4 SWB

Yeah Mike I thought about taking the ARE cover off and just giving it a polish up inside and out. I took the seat out to take pictures of the build sheet and even the seat bolts unbolted with my 1/4 inch socket set and were just beautiful black oxide like they had just been installed. The more I look at it the more I can't believe how nice it is and it may just stay in my stable. I am really getting the ich to get the 60 Vet under construction. I just bought more GM stock with a new Duramax this week so Joe can keep building those nice 72's and keep his retirement benifets going!

Mark, That thing will never sell. You might as well sell it to me for the same price as I sold that black one to you for.

Really, If i had @$25,000, I would pick your truck over any fully restored truck any day. There is something about survivor cars that drive people crazy........Jason

Re: WIW factory original paint 72 4x4 SWB

It will be a fun one to do someday. I have found a lot of originallity details I never realized from this one. If I were to go back to 1972 I would have ordered the exact truck in these colors and options. Maybe a set of buckets and curled tow hooks to boot!

Re: WIW factory original paint 72 4x4 SWB

That truck has so much going for it it is hard to say what it is worth, but I bet the second highest bidder who misses it will kick himself for a looooooonnnng time. ........ at that level of the cool old truck game, money has little to do with it.

My guess is the bids will peak around 19k. Not saying it's not worth more, that just seems to be the market these days.

Re: WIW factory original paint 72 4x4 SWB

Yeah it has dual aux tanks. The tanks are clean and work great with a switch lever on the floor right below the drivers seat adjustment handle. Tanks are nice and original black finish too.
Really the pictures don't due the original paint justice especially on the interior shots. You can see some of the thin spots in mainly some of the white insert middle but even the hood is not primer showing through. The bed area is just immaculate for wear.

Re: WIW factory original paint 72 4x4 SWB

Joe, your picture is better than the ones I took. I was in a hurry Sunday afternoon to get the pictures taken and get it uploaded on eBay.
I have sold three of my high dollar vehicles by word of mouth this last week to cover purchase of the new GMC so maybe this '72 will just go back in my toy box. Thanks for all the comments and pricing estimates everyone.

Re: WIW factory original paint 72 4x4 SWB

I say hold out and raise the price if it does not pull 25. Very few of these trucks can pull that price, but I think this one is pretty special. Good luck. Once again, I wish I was rich; not in the Richard or Dick way, but well off.

Mine was sold from the same dealership(see dealer sticker on tailgate) and produced in Fremont too. Wish I could say mine was as clean and pampered as yours. Awsome find for someone.
