My son's 2bbl on the ole 350 is now junk. We have the Edelbrock 1406 ready to go. I have 2 cast iron 4bbl intakes to choose from. One is 3965577 and I think it's off a 69 or 70 350. The other is 340234 (340284?), unknown.
Both are identical except for the way the 4bbl intake is cast. Both are for q-jets but are slightly different. 2 ?'s: 1. What are these from? 2. Pros and cons, which would you use? On a budget, just using available parts, not wanting to buy new intake. CP,
My book says 3965577 is from 70 Corvette, Camaro, 4 BC, cast iron, 300 & 350 HP. The closest to the other one is 340281 - 305,350 82-85 pass. or Camaro cast iron Q-jet. or 340261 - 340261 350 74-76 pass., Camaro, Chevelle, Nova. I think the first one lends to higher performance. Just my opinnion. you ought to snag a stock aluminum intake off a 80;s air conditioned car like 870 caprice, etc, they are 4bbl 305 engines, i like those intakes on mostly stock motors, they stay alot cooler and are so light and easy to set on engine under hood.
i have three of them lol, i snag them when i can. good luck. ------------------ Randy- Lincoln, IL randy@ccaonline.com 2177353230 -71 C-10 350/CH465/3.07, basketcase literally, am assembling now -84 Z28 5.0L/700R4/3.73 daily driver -84 Firebird/SE 2.8L/T-5/3.73/engine bad, dammit,, -82 purple Trans Am, ram hood, junk305/good THM200C **I buy/sell/hoard/trade most any GM vehicle parts of any and all kinds -parting out: '81 Cutlass Supreme Brougham *Paint is overrated © RSS Enterprises 2000 |
