info on 624 heads

im about to put together a 350 and i needed to get some info on the 624 heads. what are its characteristics? are they better or worse than the 882s? the motors will be built for milage and torque.

I absolutely disagree! The 624's are thinner, lighter-duty castings that debuted in '75. The ports are also smaller, and are some of the worst performing smog era heads. The 882's actually flow better at .400" lift than the double hump/camel hump/fuelly heads from '64 to '71, but have hardened valve seats and today's pump gas friendly 76cc chambers. (flow numbers below)

Don't get me wrong, I would not be afraid of running 624's, but I would go with the 882's if I have to choose between the two.
