Re: My first car show

Right on! I've always loved your truck. I think ya should hammer it down tho I just bought a beater parts truck thats kinda sorta like yours, but reversed paint scheme and a long box. I wished it was in better shape, i love these colors on these trucks.

OC--I think I saw your truck a few years ago (I may be wrong in my old age) and you have got it on it's way. Good luck and great looking rig.

Wink Re: My first car show

love your truck . reminds me a little of mine (2 tone & all). think it sits perfect . Ilowered mine twice before Iwas satisfied. Now after a couple of years , sometimes IWISH IT WAS ALITTLE LOWER . But its almost like a disease , never totally satisfied with what we have; sometimes ME & MY POCKET BOOK HAVE TO SAY GOOD ENOUGH . wILL POST SOME PICS OF MINE hopefully soon .

Nice Truck. Definitely like the colors. Your pictures just convinced me to get the phantom grill. What are the tire and rim size combo?

the gauges are fantastic! i love them.

and the front is gonna be lowered some more. i found a new set of djm 3" springs on ebay for $70 shipped, but i'm not sure if i want to go that low. i've got 1.5" springs now and was thinking about 2" springs

the truck is not track ready yet. still need to tune the carb in a little and get better tires. i'm hoping to get out there sometime in march. i already out did myself in getting the truck ready a month ahead of "my" schedule on it due to the car show i wanted to attend. i've still got the following to do before i get out to the track:

- front end rebuild with new bushings
- lower the front a bit more
- new tires all around(including drag radials in the rear)
- c-notch the rear end.

then later down the road i have :

- rear disc brakes
- 700r4 tranny and 3000 stall
- fuel cell conversion
- rear mount battery conversion
- flush hard bed cover
- air bags(maybe...)

wow, come to think of it, there isnt really that much stuff to do before i can really say the truck is finshed

i wanted to go to that show to meet some Dh'ers i haven't met yet, keith called me saturday and asked if i wanted to go help at TRP with the lightning, so i ended up going to tulsa, weighs in at 3875, went a 10.07 at 131, and then the second round blew something up inside the Turbo 400, the only GM part on the truck broke

yeah, it is a hughes turbo 400 and he told him it would hopefully see 1300-1500 horsepower, i think he said his goal is to be the fastest modular powered truck, he has another motor that i believe is ready to go in it, that will be procharged, the one in it right now has a 2.3 KB and some nitrous, he is set on beating Johnny Lightning, BTW he called Hughes this morning and they said to send it back, that it shouldn't have done that, that is off the footbrake also(no transbrake, we run No/E classes when possible
