Bench/bucket seat question

Are the seat brackets for our trucks the same for from a bench seat as the drivers side 69-72 buckets.

In other words, can I use or modify a bench seat bracket to work on my bucket seats?

I'm about 90% sure they are, and if it weren't 11:00 at night I'd go outside and look.

Re: Bench/bucket seat question

I think the flanges at the top that bolt to the seat are different

Re: Bench/bucket seat question

Are you asking can you mount buckets on a bench frame? I would say NO because a bench only has two slide tracks where a bucket needs four. If you have blazer buckets or factory style and frame will work. Otherwize you may have to do some fabrication.

Re: Bench/bucket seat question

Of course your not going to have enough brackets to do all four but you can atleast do the driver seat for now..I was able to do this on my Toyota not too long ago, I used Mazda seat and bolted them to stock Toyota bench seat rail, Some fabrication was needed but overall it did work. With your situation though, I dont see you having much of a problem. Goodluck.

No, the factory bench & drivers side bucket seat brackets are different from one another, and yes with some modification/fab work you can get the bench brackets to work on your drivers side factory bucket seat. Cb

Re: Bench/bucket seat question

jay_shy: Here is a pic of the drivers side 69-72 factory bucket seat adjuster tracks, they are the pair on the right. Note how all four of the seat ataching points/flats are bent towards the outside edges of bucket seat and then look at your bench seat tracks for differences and needed mods. Cb

Re: Bench/bucket seat question

Now that I did a little searching on this site, the brackets that I posted look to be different or later model seat brackets. I will have to take a closer look when I get home tonight and compare some pics.

If somebody has some pictures of 67-72 bench seat brackets that would be great.
