What year/years came w/ that fake wood center paneling?

My family is growing and I want to restore the burb w/ that fake wood (tape?) and replace it w/ real wood. I believe the trucks where the same as the burbs. Any help or links would help greatly. I believe it's 1973. Thanks

73 thru at least 77 had it available. It is possible it was available up until 80...but definately not 81 and newer. Here is my old 77 Blazer.

Thumbs up Re: What year/years came w/ that fake wood center paneling?

If you do use real wood i assume a veneer of some sort then be sure to seal both sides with a high quality wood weather sealer and finish and when you install it on to the truck id'e use some sort of RTV silicone on the edges of it to seal out any water & moisture before you reinstall the metal trim work otherwise you will have a sub of rust in no time.

I think it would be a good idea to plan on making this truck a grage queen from this point on cuz the harsh elements are gonna be hard on that real wood.

Post progress and finish pic's of this project cuz i also want to see it.

Re: What year/years came w/ that fake wood center paneling?

I have the money in my hand and waiting for a 1973-1977 burb w/ wood. A perfect buy wood be oringinal green w/wood and minimal cancer rust. I work w/ someone who has exp. w/ wood work. Hard white oak w/ good treatment. 1/2" thick and most likely metal fab. inset work to have it flush. PLUS clean blend finish at the front turn signal lights. DON"T want to make it seem to good cause the price will start to go up anxiosly waiting. peace
