Who? Bed Shortening (central Cali)

Who here in the central valley can shorten a long bed for me. I can get my hands on decent long beds before I get my hands on a shortbed fleetside. If I get one what should I expect to pay to have it shortened? I was wondering if anyone local has tackled it before. I saw and episode of trucks and it came out great for a 64 that was shortened from a long bed. The frame and the bed were shortened....It looked easy but by the time I'm good enough to pull that off...well it will be a long while.

PM Rokcrln about this. I don't know how close he is to you but he has already done this job and he made it look easy. If you go up to the Projects and builds section you will find his Low Buck build where he did the shortening. I think it's all laid out there.

i would have to belive it would be cheaper to buy new short bed sides than to pay to have them shortened. i think it is only cost efective to those who can do the work themselfs

Could be but @ about $500 per side and the floor still has to be shortened as well it's adding up fast.
