Kick Panel Vent removal?

on a non air truck, are these vents really nessasary or could i just wall them in. (no more vent ) i don't plan to alter the ventilation system in any other way, but am i about to mess up?

I think they are nice to let fresh air into the foot area. Why do you want to cover them?

i agree i like them and i think using them helps to dry out the lower cowl area

I think you should take them out. I need the parts for the pass. side of my truck.

I have seen trucks with them blocked by panels or speakers and don't see how it could be a problem. It's no different than driving with them closed. The only problem would be having no way to clean up the leaves and crap that get in there, but you could clean them out well and put a screen under your cowl panel to keep them clean.

You HAVE to block off the passenger side if you use a sure fit vintage air kit. I do find it nice to open the DS one on days when I don't need the windows down for fresh air.

Don't really see it as a problem, although I haven't driven in cold weather yet... may need the fresh air to keep the cab from fogging up?

well i fabbed up metal kick panels with no vents and then i cut off the bottom portion of the vent behind the front fender. this way if leaves go in the cowl they will drop out on the ground under the truck and not stay in there to collect moister, hopfully this prevents me from replacing the cab pillar,rocker , floor,kick panel and front cab support again. those vents are the prime suspect when it comes to finding a culprit for the typical rust areas of these trucks...

depends on what kind of motor your running,

I've got a 383 stroker motor, with headers (runs close to the floor), and i know that if im driving on a hot summer day, and i forget to open the vents, my feet get real hot, real quick. non air trucks had crappy venilation down there, and it gets quite un-comfortable.
