Who is using "SuperTrapp" mufflers and why?

I have a 402BB w/Thorley headers and also have the Flowmaster mufflers. My concern is that once I sart to drive my truck on more of a regular basis...the 40's are going t be annoying at cruisings speeds. I am not familiar with SuperTrap and would like some input. Thanks.

My experince will be different because I use that muffler on my motorbike, but it works excellent. I dont have any drone, it also takes away some of the sharpness of the sound. They also flow very good for me, and they are certified spark arrestor, so its safe in the mountains, etc.

Overall I like, and much cheaper than a white, etc.

I guess in my old age I want something that lets you know its a 402BB when you idle or kick it in...then again I want low volume when I cruise.....Maybe this muffler doesn't exist?

You're right.....I's old age. hehe I wished I had a hearing aid to turn down the volumn when crusing.......I'm looking for the same sound on mine.....I've been told by others on here that the stainless Magnaflow mufflers are nice when going down the road.

Hey 70GMCer...
Maybe old geeeezers like us need a subsite? For the more seasoned members? I think when I was young loud was good...now in my old age loud is bad. Then I think into today's language "bad" is "good"

Re: Who is using "SuperTrapp" mufflers and why?

what about a stock exhaust, with a set of electic dumps at the headers, with a WOT switch?

Re: Who is using "SuperTrapp" mufflers and why?

Supertraps are tunable but adding/removing diffuser discs for the desired effect (sound level), but the number of discs is fixed at that point- same number at idle vs. cruise.

You could go with a set of electric cutouts and use them in reverse of the 'typical' operation. There are generally used to run mufflers at idle and around town and then up it up to no mufflers for some stoplight vendeta. You could use the same setup to swap between two different mufflers (two different levels of sound attenuation) or just run it open at idle, then switch to mufflers for the cruise.
