spare key find
doing a rebuild and was in the garage tonight thinking about my next move on this teardown when I was looking at the old engine wiring harness I noticed an old rusty key in the harness channel. I also found a magnetic key box under the fender when I first bought the truck. I quess the PO was always losing his keys. i was wondering if it might be an orginal, but it looks like a rekeyed spare. thought you guys might like this.......rick

Re: spare key find
That's still done today on vehicles. You can still buy the key boxes at auto stores and put them under the fender. Was nothing original about it.

Re: spare key find
I found the same thing on my Blazer. The previous owner had wired a spare key to the fender under the hood. On my 1 ton, the previous owner had wired a bottle opener to the core support. I kept the bottle opener on the 1 ton and I've made good use of it a couple of times.
