Fan Clutch Question

After 17x,xxx miles on the Monte and a couple of thousand on the truck, my fan clutch finally gave up. I purchased a new fan clutch from NAPA yesterday and installed it. (It is hard to tell from the picture but the box actually said Made in USA - I didn't know the USA still made anything).

Anyways my question is do I need to do something other than the lock washers because of the slots where it mounts to the water pump? The GM one had holes. The lock washers looked better on that one. On the new one it just doesn't look right.

Is anybody running one of these slotted clutches? Does it stay on there ok?

I will admit it was a heck of a lot easier getting it on there. I started one bolt and slid the pump on. It sure beats fiddling around with attempting to alight the hole in the clutch, the pulley, and the threads in the water pump.

I think if you wanted to have a little more surface for the lock washer you could use a flat washer, or use a lock nut with a flat washer.
what makes the clutch fan center? That is the first thing that concerned me.

There is a locating pin on the center of the water pump that centers the whole assembly.

Mine works fine but I used a thick flat washer under the lock washer.

After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

the slotted ones are fine. They do that so one part will fit both long water pumps, and short water pumps. (bolt pattern isn't the same)
The center nipple locates it, and keeps it from falling off center, the bolts just secure it.
Your engine can't rev enough to make it matter.
