Re: Is this a 4" lift?
Look's like Mabe a 4 Front & 6 Rear, I think you need rear Brought down to meet the Front. I would'nt bring the Front up to Match the rear, That rear make's the Tire's Look too Small........

Re: Is this a 4" lift?
Alright,so this bugged me all day just looking at it like this so I brought it into the shop and before I knew it the tires were off and the u-bolts,shocks,and driveshaft were seperated from the axle. So,down the axle went. The plan,to remove this thick spring which may help.A few minutes later the spring pack was apart and the thick spring is gone.A little more work here and there, back in place the axle goes,on goes the u-bolts,tighten them down, put the wheels back on,and lower it back down...Guess what? It's sitting darn near level now and I'm happy. The thich spring was probably 3/8" thick, but I believe just removing it allowed the springs to settle in.What ever the answer is,I like the stance.Well,it was dark by the time I got done but got one pic so you can sorta see the stance, and one of the springs.I'll get some more pics tomorrow of it outside.
The rear springs now You can sorta see the stance..and the junk piled in it.The blocks in it were to put some extra weight on it to settle the springs. This old pic from the first time the lift went on shows the springs, the thick one on the bottom circled in red is the one I removed. Last edited by 1969k10stepside; 12-25-2007 at 09:25 AM. |

Re: Is this a 4" lift?
The spring perches are the stock ones for the 12 bolt,as far as I know.I havent changed them but a previous owner may have.Yeah,I do need to trim them down,I really do since I kinda messed up the threads on one at the bottom, the nut will thread on it though. That pic of the spring is screwed up,the battery was low and I got under there real quick to take the pic before it died but I guess I didnt slow down enough to stop the blur
![]() Earl, the spring I removed was about 3/8" thick..And no one I showed the springs to before I put them on thought they were for a 4" lift either. They were arched so much I had a tough time getting them in place. They did flatten out some after a few days though and the position of the shackle changed too. |

Re: Is this a 4" lift?
Here is a pic of the rear springs before I put them on.The numbers confirm from Rough Country as a 4" lift..I should have went with blocks the first time around

Re: Is this a 4" lift?
On that Bottom leaf that you removed, That is what they used to sell as add a Leaf that supposed to give a couple in. of Lift.
I also agree with what other's have said about the whole Package looking to be more than 4' lift Springs. Well anyhow it look's like you have cured the Problem........... Good Luck, Rick |

Re: Is this a 4" lift?
I moved the truck outside-Open headers at 10 am on a Sunday, the neighbors love me
![]() Here is some pics..I think I need to clean off that surface rust and do some touch up on that frame..I only painted it 10 months ago ![]() Can I really complain if the whole lift is a 6" lift? More lift for less money, but that isn't what I wanted..Oh well, more clearance for the 315/75 Pro Comps ![]() Last edited by 1969k10stepside; 10-07-2007 at 11:22 AM. |

Re: Is this a 4" lift?
That does look much better now im guessing that some one back at the factory might have marked them as 4" springs when they were actually 6".

Re: Is this a 4" lift?
Now that the stance is good, and the drivetrain is done...now to finish the work on the cab, take all the paint off,and send it to paint..
Another thing is the rear driveshaft angle is alot better. It'll look real good all painted and finished..then only 4 more trucks to finish... ![]() Last edited by 1969k10stepside; 10-07-2007 at 09:32 PM. |
