I am needing to install some steps of some sort on the blazer, 8" lift and 35" tires...soon to be 38" the wife is having a heck of a time getting in. So lets see some pics of what you have installed!

There's a thread about em in the 4x4 section, a guy found a decent set for his truck but blazers are way different than trucks in that area.

Find another way IMO.
An old tow strap that can be hung out like a stirrup or something.

Maybe wrong here but if your running 38's with an 8" lift, there's not going to be a step low enough to help anyway.

Don't know your driving intention's but if your going off road (thinking most likely with 8" lift and 38's) you'll only rip the steps off anyway and then you have body damage to contend with.

Try to find another way!!

Maybe a hand hold to help her get in/pull herself up with?

My door threshold is 36" and my wife is 5' so I know what your talkin' about.

I'm 5'2" tall and get into "Jack" who is sitting on 35" tires with an 8" lift every day. (I'll admit that it's not so ladylike while wearing skirts...but oh well).

I think I remember seeing someone actually helping his little lady with the door (like a gentleman should) but his first stop was to lift the hatch up and remove a small stepstool from the back. That keeps the truck looking tough (and 4x4 ready) and keeps her from having to strain herself too much.

Funny enough...all of my male friends have a harder time climbing aboard Jack then I do.

For a true idea of how tall Jack is (or how short I am)...I can't actually open up the hatch and have it lock since I'm not tall enough nor can I jump high enough...

Get some retractable steps. Thats a good compromise they are kind of pricey, but if you don't want to loose ground clearance and need a step it's the best way to go for sure.

I've been thinking of a rock slider design that allows a step to be attached underneath (at the back of the rocker, nit the bottom) so that you can hang the steps in place for around town, but easily pull them off and stow them for the trails.

Unfortunately, I think real slow.....

my blazer will see no offraod at all, This is a pavement pounder only, so I am not worried about ground clearance. I dont want to have to mess with a stirrup or anything else that dangles out and the retractable ones are out of the price range, I was just looking for something that looks nice on it.

What axles are you running? 6 luggers?

no, there 8lugs, 44front and 60 rear, got a 14bff with matching gears ready to go in if the 60 gives me fits

Here is another option for steps. I am thinking of putting a set on my Blazer. The ones pictured are factory on my daily driver, a 1996 Bronco, but Lund make a universal set that you can paint to match. I like them because they blend into the body lines and don't stick down to far.

I had a chain with a garden house over it connected to 2 eye bolts in the blazer I used it to step in and out of the truck and just pulled it inside when the doors were shut. But that blazer was for play more then looks. Grizzly makes a cool nurf bar with a drop step if you want more for looks. I think they call them Grizzly Double Bend Side Bars

CARR does not list an application for 67-72 Blazers. They start out at 73. How hard were they to mount up? I REALLY want some steps that have a little drop, like the CARR, to assist getting in and out. I looked at the install instructions on the web site and did not see a good but still easy way to modify the install to work on my '72 Blazer. Any more information on what you did would be much appreciated.

I cant remember exactly how we did them. I will have to go look at them. I know the Blazers have the box under them. I will check them out and get back with you.

The crappy step on mine is mounted to the underside of the box, under the door. Mine has 2 angles that bolt to the floor in holes drilled in the horizontal box 'floor'. The down tube for the step are the bolted to these angles. I didn't post mine up, mostly because I am not real happy with it and would not recommend this mount method. Every time you step on it, you put torsional stress on the box and cause a little distortion. Over time, this is probably not good.
