pics. about $300 into build so far

I'm going to use this for a beater over the winter untill I get more $$ and the weather warms up. I need a truck to haul parts, go to the dump, wood. I don't have too much money to sink into her untill we finish my son's c/10 here are some pics of when I got her and where i'm at now. and yes i only have 300 bucks in the truck. all new brake lines and hoses. Cleaned, primed painted frame. some new and used parts here and there. anyway here are the pics.
when I got it.....

Not bad looking, the cab looks to be in great shape. Some day I want to bring my '69 K/20 back from it's rusty grave and get a decent body from a 2wd and drop on it to just use it..Not worry about scratches like on a restored truck, but not a total POS.Just a good shape,4wd.

That's a lot of progress for $300.00 and a couple months work.It would n't see that way but since you mention a son,,,family takes a lot of time and trucks come second.

Re: pics. about $300 into build so far

I'm going to use it as a POS for now. Maybe take it offroad a bit and not have to worry about it. Besides this truck was just a parts truck we got for my son's c/10... wasn't planning on finding something to drive while looking for parts trucks....well it's two different parts trucks and some new and used parts. I don't have the money to fix up a truck for my son and myself, so I'm going to fix his up and used the unwated parts on my beater. I have been useing a 82 ford truck for hauling stuff and going to the dump/home depot...this one will be a little more fun, and it is even costing me less $$

Re: pics. about $300 into build so far

paneldeland, yes it seems like alot of progress. I was lucky to get a great deal on two differant parts trucks. the k/10 came with alot of new parts. The po was going to fix it at one time but never got to it. I also had some parts from a k/10 that I sold a few years back. Then the extra parts from my son's slow build. Picked up some free parts from some chevy lovin friends... I have no garage or a place to store too much stuff so I wanted to get it on the road. Got some help from my father and teenage son...He wants me to get it together so we can get back to working on his truck. Also my ford has a gas tank leak and i really don't want to spend the money to fix it so I need a truck to haul stuff with. The frame slowed me down a bit.....It was in a fire so I also had to take the time to check out the engine. I have less than 200.00 in the body/frame/engine ect.

Re: pics. about $300 into build so far

The PO of the truck/w body sold it to me cheap. He showed me the inside of the bed (wood rotted not much left) and talked about how bad it was rusted out. "just about the whole bed floor is gone"......I didn't tell him that it was a wood floor and everything else looked good
