Ebay ad title

We had the Monroe swap meet here this weekend. I sold a ton of stuff on Saturday and nothing today. When I was putting stuff back in the barn I found something I forgot to put out at the swapmeet. Im still kinda stoked about all the stuff I sold on Saturday so I wanna try and stick this on ebay and see if I can get top dollar for it.

What is the absolute best ebay title to get the most views from 67-72 truck lovers? Ive seen a few but its been awhile since I looked so any thoughts would be appreciated.

I will post a link to the auction when I get it going.

Re: Ebay ad title

I've always used 1967 68 69 70 72 72 Chevy C10 C20 C30 Pickup -then the item if there's room.

That pretty much covers everything. If someone punches in 1971 Chevy or Chevrolet truck parts it will register since 19 and 71 is in the description. There's never a need to spell out Chevrolet because their parameters have Chevy and Chevrolet as the same word. Use all 55 characters if you can!

Re: Ebay ad title

Using all kinds of title manipulation tactics just makes you look like a stereotypical sleazy ebay salesman.

Try something totally different like this:

1970 Chevy/GMC Delixe Door Panels
67-72 Chevy/GMC Muffler Bearings
1967 - 1972 Chevy/GMC Driver's Side Fender

Accuracy and honesty will go further than title and description games every time.

I know what you are saying, but some people search so wierdly. The guy I used to work for was trying to buy a car lift and told me that Ebay didn't have any. Well of course they do, but he was typing in car lifts instead of car lift. The object is to get as much traffic as possible. Most sleazy Ebay guy's feedback will tell the story.

Re: Ebay ad title

I am not being a jerk. I just want to encourage you to keep things realistic, which I believe you will.

You know the kind of seller I am referring to:

Gem Mint Super Rare LQQQK mflr brng NOT Ford, Mopar, GTO

They put more effort into what they think will generate traffic than anything else.

When I see a seller pull that crap I dont even bother LQQQKing, let alone bidding. I have gotten to the age where I will not buy a part, even at an awesome price, if I think the seller is a moron.

I didn't take your response as being a jerk, and I know the kind of seller you're talking about. Putting Mint and Gem on a rusty POS oughta be a crime!

Re: Ebay ad title

Here is the search string I use:

(1967, 1968, 1969, 1970, 1971, 1972, 67, 68, 69, 70, 71, 72) (GMC, Chevy, Chevrolet) (truck, pickup)

The translation is as follows:

Show me everything with 1967 OR 1968, OR ... AS WELL AS GMC OR Chevy OR Chevrolet AS WELL AS Truck OR Pickup

I save the search, and have ebay email me the new auctions every day that meet my search criteria.

Re: Ebay ad title

For the title I like to use 67-72 Chevy GMC Truck "Part name"

Then I'll add all those key words at the bottom of the description including Suburban Jimmy Blazer Pickup Panel and all the years in 2 and 4 digits etc.

PLUS don't forget the common misspellings for items like Tack...

Set the font as small as possible on the keywords to minimize the eye-sore

I have found some good, otherwise overlooked, deals on the common misspellings thing.
