'70 grill or '71

Ok,I've got good 71 grills and a good 70 grill.I can't decide which to go with and need to decide so I can buy bumper brackets. The truck is a 71..So which grill would you guys use? In case you dont know the difference, the 70 grill has silver stripes on it which the '69 grill dont have.It sorta has the billet grill insert look but it's still OE.So,which would you guys use?
The '71 grill which was on it...
The front end will be finished off with bumper guards and tow hooks..

Or this '70 grill pulled from my K/5?

And yes that is the same bumper, the 67-70 bumper was easier to get to than my 71-72 bumper for mock-up purposes..

Re: '70 grill or '71

That 70 grill looks like crap - send it to me and I'll dispose of it properly.

I personally prefer the 69-70 grill, but the 71-72, in my opinion, looks best on a blue truck (I know - it sounds weird)

My vote for the '70 as well. Just my opinion, I like it better.

Re: '70 grill or '71

If you do go with the 71/72 grille you could always mount the turn signals behind the grill and still go with the 69/70 bumper.

Re: '70 grill or '71

I'll make war.

70 is the only great looking grill, keep it and scrap the 71/72 look.

Re: '70 grill or '71

I like the 69/70 grill better.
How about doing what I did. I wanted driving lights. (They came out with the re-pop, driving light integrated bumpers after I started acquiring parts). I put a 71/72 bumper on my 70 look-alike truck.

You'll need the 71/72, 4x4 front bumper brackets. I THINK the 71/72 front brackets will work with the older style (no turn signals) bumpers. If you find a set of those you can change your mind later.

Re: '70 grill or '71

I like the 69 inserts MUCH more than the 70. I'd go with the 69/70 shell with 69 inserts. If that's not an option I'd prefer the 71 grille.

I put a toggle switch in the cab. When the lights are on, the switch has a little LED that lets you know the circuit is getting power.

The switch gets power from a "on when key on" spot in the factory fuse panel. That wire goes to a relay under the hood. The relay then supplies 12 Volts directly from the battery to the lights.

I mounted the driving lights in a set of 71/72 blinker assemblies that had light sockets that were corroded beyond usefullness for what they were intended. I removed the bad sockets and mounted the Wal*Mart driving lights to the lensless, bulb socketless stock assemblies. If I ever find a driving light that fills the hole in the bumper better I'll be swapping them in.
