WIW - cylinder heads

I've had the heads off my old 307 laying around for awhile. I want to get rid of them but don't know what they're worth, if anything. One is a factory 307 head and the other is a 283 power pack head. Don't ask me why they were mismatched. The PO masterminded that operation. Anyways, thanks for any help with pricing.

Re: WIW - cylinder heads

Not to hurt your feelings but the market for old OE heads is not very good. With the cheap price of aftermarket heads complete bolt on for $850.00 plus you would have a third of that to redo a set of old factory heads. I have even seen that over the last 8 or 10 years that your camel back heads are not even bring that much.

Re: WIW - cylinder heads

Your only hope may be if the 283 Power Pack head is off a 55-57 Chevy and someone needs it for the date code and originality factor.

That was my thinking exactly. They had some special symbol cast into the front. I dont know if it was a crown or a diamond or something. 283's didnt come out till 57 right? Before that the only v8s were 265's. Dad's 57 is a power pack car and has those heads.

Re: WIW - cylinder heads

Yeah, stupid me. 57 was the first year for 283. Try ebaying it and list the casting # and date code, you never know.

They have a triangle shape at the front of the head. I ran the numbers on it but can't remember what year it was. Thanks again guys.
