Loose vents?

Okay, Guys and Gals. I have solved my problem of loose AC/Heat vents with card board. Show of hands how many people have made the same quick fix......

Short of obtaining new vents, how can these be stiffened up?

Re: Loose vents?

how about using some eletrical tape on the vent.. the hole where the vent sits in to take up some of the slack in the thing? i personally have always opted for the card trick

Re: Loose vents?

I saw an article in a car magazine once where they restored a set of vents. They use the fuzzy half of adhesive backed velcro above and below the vent to create a little bit of friction so the vent would stay in place.

I've seen the old toothpick/matchstick fix too.

The Velcro sounds like it may do the job and not look too bad. My truck isn't the only AC that I have with loose vents. My window AC in my shop is also afflicted with it. It however came from the factory that way. Try to blow it up to the ceiling when running my cnc router and it soon blows right back in my face. Icecicle nostrils.
