what's my stock gearing?
I have a 1969 1/2 ton shortbed. It says on the rear dif F 3896838 GM52.
Where can I find out what my gears are? I'm pretty sure there stock. I want to know because I want to get the 700 overdrive transmission, but my dad says make sure that I don't have to regear it. Will the trans work with stock gearing? Thanks for any help. |

Original 327 with 3 on the tree. Now it's a 350, and I want the auto trans.

Re: what's my stock gearing?
should be a 3.73 if no one's messed with it.
Perfect gear ratio for an overdrive tranny. |

Re: what's my stock gearing?
Thanks for the help. I need to get rid of the old manual trans crossmember right? And then get one for an automatic? Who sells them?
