Who carries 3 speed shift link bushings?
I noticed the bushings on my manual, column shift, 68 GMC are starting to deteriorate. I checked around the local auto parts and couldn't find anyone that carries them anymore.
Does anyone know what vendor or where I can get some? I would like to replace the transmission end bushings and the column ones also. Thanks.. |

Re: Who carries 3 speed shift link bushings?
Yep, me too. The last ones I got about 6 years ago were from a local auto parts and from the dealer.
Last week I went to an out of town Chevy dealer where I have the truck and he didn't carry them anymore. I haven't checked with the local guy. I know that someone has to carry them. I've googled them and found several places that carry the 4 speed ones, but I haven't found them for our trucks yet. |

Re: Who carries 3 speed shift link bushings?
ttt
Well, I've looked in all the local auto parts, local chevy dealer, specialty drive train/transmission shops and no one has the bushings for the 3 speed shift links. I did get 1 bushing from an out of town parts store that fit on the transmission end and 2 grommets that the dealer said would work for the column end but he didn't have the transmission end ones. Amazing that no one has them anymore. Does anyone have any tips? |

Speaking of tips... Here's what I did-I know these won't last very long but they will get you by- I got some tubes of cheap caulk, couple bucks a tube, and cut off the tube tip until it was about a quarter inch long and a good fit on the linkage. It worked pretty good.
