went to the strip last fri. night.
drove my 84 there ,1.5 hrs away .
changed to drag radials once Igot there.
ran only 2 passes / drove back home .
went to change back to my street tires when Igot back home
noticed on driver side there was no brake drum .
Had run on the strip & back home with no brake drum on 1 side
drum had come off when Ipulled street tire of / & Iput drag radial on without even realizing what Ihad done.
bought new drum from Advance // cant get it on / tried everything / adjustment screw all the way loose .

any help would be appreciated

You probably pushed the rods out of the wheel cylinders, and there caught on the cylinder housing, not allowning the shoes to go all the way back in. Hopefullly you didn't push the seals out of the wheel cylinder, however I am sure you did. Probably time for a new wheel cylinder, shoes, and hold down kit in the rear

What do the actuators (pins) in the wheel cylinder look like? Are they still there in the cylinder? IF they are ok, you can get them back in by relieving pressure off the bleed screw. I would inspect everything to make sure nothing is broken or destroyed before reassembling it.

youre lucky if the wheel cylinder didnt come apart and you would ahve lost pressure to the rear brakes that coulda been hairy if you needed to stop quick

That is what I was thinking too. If you have too, jack up the rear end, pull both rear wheels off and compare. David

tHANKS FOR THE RESPONSES.

Will check what yall said. every thing looke normal & dry . If pin had come out of wheel cylinder would it not be wet with brake fluid ?the adjuster is srewed all the way down , in fact its out of the slot & drum still does not fit .
Will keep trying . Maybe letting pressure out of bleed screw will work .
