Front end just dropped..

The other day i got into the old burb and the first (small)bump I hit, the tires rub pretty bad. This was at low speed, so the bump was not the cause...

I look at the front end and notice that the driver's side is lower than the passenger side.

I am guessing that this is going to be a bad shock.

So does anyone have some suggestions on shock replacement? Its a 1972 3/4 ton burb.

I dont want bags yet, as money is tight.

I also need to replace my tires soon. They are 16" rims and I wanted to put a more low profile tire on it so it can be lowered in the future.
Any suggestions on that?

thanks, I appreciate it.

Re: Front end just dropped..

Shocks do not hold the ride height up. You most likely have a broken coil spring in the low corner. I have seen several GM's that had a front coil break. Usually breaks about one coil from the bottom.

Sounds like it is a good time to put it on bags.
