It could be--The 350 didnt change much year by year that is visible stuff..the bracketry and pulley system look like original 67-72 truck stuff though...Can't really know till you check the numbers. It could be original, may not be...need the numbers to know.

been a while since I've dinked around with the small blocks... but I am thinkin that is a 71/72 alt bracket. I remember the 69/70 ones having the arm bolt to the cradle.

Did they make a 2 barrel 350? Otherwise it looks correct to me. Maybe a 307?

Looks like a 307 if you look at the harmonic balancer. If it has a 350,it's normally on the option sheet in the glove box and will also have the emblems on the fenders.

The truck is a C/30 with a 157" wheelbase but no 350 is listed on the spid sheet. Is it stock in this kind of truck? Other question, what is the size of the harmonic balancer center bolt to turn the engine and confirm that engine turn?

The balancer on a 307 ith be 6 1/4" in diameter and about 1.25" thick. The balancer on the 350 with be 8" in diameter and about 2" thick.

283's are great little motors. I have one in my '67 stepside and since the compression is excellent...I don't even want to mess with replacing it. Some day it will come out and get replace with a larger displacment motor but for now it is just fine.

Re: Original 1969 350sbc specialist please!

It could be a 283, but it has been changed. A 283 would have an oil filler on the front of the intake and valve covers w/o pcv and oil fill holes. Somebody would have had to put the intake and covers off a newer engine. Did you look at the casting numbers on the back of the block? That's really the only sure to know what is. The stamping numbers on the front are usually useless unless you know the casting numbers and date codes on the back of the block because GM reused stamped codes from year to year.
