Sat pics (10-20) Yes I'm still here!
We jumped in the truck about 10 this morning and rolled back in about 11 tonight.......what a day! Had to shoot down to Canton to pick up some pottery and hit the last cruise in Canton for the year. Hundreds of cars were out showing what they had. Those pics are here http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...09#post2412309 I also stopped by my grandparents on the way back and shot a couple pics.
Spare parts. I really like this shot! I shot it in front of a lil Mexican market in Calhoun. Last edited by see ten; 10-21-2007 at 01:44 AM. |

Like the truck but I love the old tractors pictures. Looks like Farmall Regulars or McCormick Deerings. I am more of a Deere man but I like them all really.
Are those your Grandparent's tractors? |

I like the dealer tag on the front, kinda ironic.

I too am stealing your beautiful truck pictures to use as my background, man you have a nack for cool shots of your truck, I've always enjoyed the pictures you post, what kind of camera is that anyway? What brand shoes are you wearing when you take those shots? Are you holding your mouth a certain way?

Re: Sat pics (10-20) Yes I'm still here!
Thanks for the props fellas! The tractors are at my grandparents place. They brought them all in about 20+ years ago. It seems like they got them from one of my great uncles. The one that is under the shed with the sawmill hooked up to it was the only one that ran when they brought them in. It came with a bush hog that we used on the property for several years. The other tractors in the woods look pretty much the same now as they did when they hauled them in. I'm all but 100% sure that they're Farmalls. My grandfather likes to refer to them as "the parts department". So I don't know if they're "going to waste" or not. Either way, you know how the approaching 90 crowd is. They've lived through the depression and refuse to sell anything for fear that they might need it. I really don't know if there are enough parts there to build another tractor out of or not.
I use two different cameras, one is a Kodak Z712 IS and the other is a Kodak Z760. They are both easyshare cameras which are pretty much just the "point and shoot" variety with a few other features added to them. I shot all of these with the Z760 as it seems to take better low-light shots. The tractor shots were 2 second exposures without a tripod. I was using a stick I found on the ground to brace the camera from the bottom while holding the side of the camera against the trunk of a small tree. I still deleted a bunch of pics to end up with these few that were worth sharing. I was using the firearm method I was taught years ago. It was refered to as BRAS. Breath Rest Aim Squeeze. You just don't know how hard it is to hold a camera steady until you slow down the shutter. I'm glad that some of you like my pics enough to use em for your backgrounds. I enjoy getting out and trying to find different places to shoot. I might get the K10 out this weekend if the weather is fit. The A/C compressor is down on it now so I haven't been getting it out when the weather is warm. I did a search and found that this round of "Sat pics" is the 12th that I've posted in a row. As long as you guys and gals are willing to put up with me I'm going to see how long I can keep em coming your way! On a side note here's a pic of my lil brothers new project. He just bought a rolling swb chassis along with this lwb truck. The truck is very complete and had been owned by the same man since 1976. The truck had been kept in the dry up until a couple years ago and is super solid. His plans are to swap the cab over to the short frame and then come up with a bed. This one is going to be low! His plans are to go with a Porterbuilt front end and a step notch 6 link out back. The truck will be painted while it's still disassembled and a Vintage Air surefit will be installed. I'm trying to talk him to running at least a 20" wheel but he wants to keep em small enough that he can still run a hood hinge. I think we're going to call this project "leftovers" due to the majority of it being from other peoples castoffs. The swb frame had the body from it scrapped due to the previous owner thinking it wasn't worth fixing. The lwb has a new engine and trans in it that was never fired. It's like the previous owner just walked away after he set the engine in and never went back. The Porterbuilt frontend is coming from a member whose project either changed direction or interest was lost (I really don't know which). I guess we'll see how many other castoff parts we can find to get the girl rollin again! Wow! I think this is one of the longest posts that I have ever typed! |

Great pics as usual!!
That's funny that your brother has just got a project. My brother just picked this up recently since I've been zooming around his place in my '69. We should have the engine and tranny in it next week. He has already been raiding my leftover and spare parts as well!
