Road trip to a junkyard...

My dad and I took our annual "guys trip" and went up to northwestern Colorado. We spent the night in Craig and headed home thru Baggs Wyoming and over to Laramie and back home, a 500 mile round trip. We stopped at a junkyard on the way, they had some good stuff, but it was overpriced. It'll probably rot away there because of it.

About 20 or so 67-72's including these two shorty's-

Check out the interior in this GMC-

A 52 or 53 AD truck resting under a tree with a two door 69 Chevelle-

A little 64/65 shorty-

A 55 post. The MOPAR next to it still had the complete 354 Hemi with air in it-

A 56 post. When's the last time you saw a 26 tall T that wasn't buried to the doors?

And finally this jem. A complete fairly rust free 66 Impala with the 396 still intact right down to the sticker on the air cleaner

You said NW Colorado and I thought,"Moffit County".Did you get out as far as Maybell? That`s some well preserved iron there.Don`t you wish you could just pay dirt for the dirt and get the vehicles free?

That is very true. I didn't get anything, I wanted a fender and the black swb but the fender was a bit out of my price range and the truck wasn't for sale. Plus the yard is not a pull-it-yourself type. I can't tell you when I've seen so many trucks with the factory AM's in great shape with knobs.

Tim, you're right on the money, and no, I didn't make it out that far.

Re: Road trip to a junkyard...

did a lot of hunting around craig back in the 90s. had a chance to go to work there too--still kicking my a$$ for not taking the job. i stopped at a wrecking yard around there one deer season and the guy wouldn't sell anything--he must have had 20 acres of cars and trucks and wouldn't even let us look at anything.
