Pedal Swap.

Just purchased a NV3500 to swap into my truck. The first order is to swap in the stock pedals I got from another member here.

Any tips on the R&R of the pedal assembly??

Thanks
Paul

Re: Pedal Swap.

It's not tough just time consuming. You have to pull the column and brake booster. I pulled the cluster for better visibility. If you are putting hydraulic pedals in 84 and older you will have to drill a couple holes for the pedal braces and one for the cylinder push rod. If I remember correctly it was a bit of a wrestling match getting the pedal assembly in and out.

Re: Pedal Swap.

are your pedals for a hydraulic or manual clutch? if theyre manual, they wont work without serious mods.

Re: Pedal Swap.

They are from a 76 model I think. I know they are manual b/c the linkage and z-bar came with them. I'm going to use it with a hyd clutch setup from a 96 S10 though.

Re: Pedal Swap.

good luck with that. 85+ pedals and mc would be a way easier starting point.

Re: Pedal Swap.

Definitely start with 85+ pedals. I think that the 85 master is the same displacement as the internal slave cylinder, so they should be compatable

Re: Pedal Swap.

If you are going hydraulic, get the 85-up hydraulic setup, MUCH easier. BTW Nv3500's for S10s weren't the same as the NV3550 that was used in fullsize trucks. They aren't as strong and were never used behind High output 4.3L's

Re: Pedal Swap.

What is the difference between the older and newer pedals??

Is there somewhere I can get the setup besides trying to find one in the salavge yard.

Re: Pedal Swap.

The older pedals use a mechanical linkage between the pedals and clutch, the newer ones are hydaulic. The only place I know to find a set is the junkyard or maybe Ebay.

Re: Pedal Swap.

I know the difference between mechanical and hydro, I want to know if there is a physical difference between the different pedals or brackets before I go out and get another set just like what I have. If anyone has pics of the 85+ pedals and bracket that will help. As I said I have some from a 76 with the mechanical setup.

Thanks
Paul
