Is it really a Longhorn?

I found a 1972 Chevy C20 Auto 350 and w/ a 8 1/2ft bed. Besides the 8 1/2ft bed and "longhorn" badges, how would I know its a longhorn?

Re: Is it really a Longhorn?

if the bed measures 8 1/2 feet inside dimentions, it's a longhorn.
If there is a verticle seam, 6 inches from the front of the bed, it's a longhorn
it the front stake pocket is 7 or so inches from the front of the bed, it's a longhorn.

If Longhorn Man says it's a Longhorn, it's a Longhorn.

Unless, like my truck, the frame ends before the back of the bed.

the extra 6inchws is in the middle, so your frame has been cut, besides, yours is a K/20, so there's no way it's a longhorn. They were only 2 wheel drive.

Re: Is it really a Longhorn?

That cut frame is about the only part I KNOW to be original to the truck.
I didn't know it was cut till I replaced the utility body with a longbed.

Re: Is it really a Longhorn?

It`s a Longhorn if the guy down the street that knows the old woman`s sister that was married to the brother of the original owner`s pastor said the guy that used to own the Western Auto before the interstate came through tryed to sell a pair of bedrails that were too short back in`70 so they figured it was a Longhorn like it said on the side.
