Post from 4 speed to auto

ok guys, i have a th350 and the cab that it came with, i plan on using that cab in my truck, the truck the th350 came in is not a 4x4, how ever mine is, other then cutting a spot for the transfer case shifter, will it bolt up to the th350? i currently have a 4 speed with granny low, i am a moron when it comes to tranny/ transfer case stuff, dont even know what transfer case i have. what i mean to ask is will the transfer case bolt up to the transmission? ui know the tranny will bolt to tthe engine, also will i need a special crossmember for that? thanks Harry

2wd tranny wil not bolt to a transfer case, way different tailshafts, 4x4 auto trannies donthave a tailhousing, and have a very short tail shaft, 2wd trannies have a houding bolted on to the tail end of the main case

you can convert a 4x2 tranny to a 4x4 tranny, but you have to completely tear tranny all apart to pull the putput shaft out and swap ina 4x4 one and completely reassemble tranny guts

i dont know if you wanna tackle this or not, but you wil need alot of parts to go from 4 speed to auto on a 4x4, alot ! pretty big job if you dont know all about this stuff, only way to learn is to do it though, so if you have a good wallet then go for it, you wil need the following to swap from manual to auto in 4x4, these are off the top of my head:
flexplate, shorter flywheel bolts to go into crank flange, autro trans xmemeber, auto linkage, auto drivesahft, auto columnm, possible frotn driveshaft length change if auto t/case adaptor doesnt make up for difference by being shorter in length,
wuto radiator, auto cooling lines pair, more i cant think of right now, you basically need a donor 4x4 auto truck or alot of luck

good luck
good luck
