The 79 door has a longer window crank shaft, different door handle , and extra mounting holes that wont be covered by a 74 door pane . Frank

f.monroe is right I have the problem of using the early window winder mechanism with the 79 interior trim because my factory 79 one broke and I could only get the earlier version. My window winder sits on the dash because the shaft is to short to get the winder to stay on.

If you want it to look correct the answer is no.

If you don't care about the 77-91 stalk sticking out 2" past the doorpanel, and the 4 holes at the bottom showing, it will bolt on.
