Well, on the good side, they left you an air freshner. Like you said, at least you're not on foot. I have driven cars in worse shape, but damn, it does need to be cleaned out. Is this a loaner or did you buy it unseen?

To be on the bright side,I see tilt wheel,60/40 split bench, can't see the side mirros but I'm sure they're there.
All to use on a 60-66 when you're done with it lol Nice to see they threw in a free beverage into the deal Hey,at least it's a GM I think we've all had to drive something "undesirable" at some point in our lives, don't worry it'll pass. T

Re: my new car... (uhhhhggglllyyyyy)
Atleast your not walking, it runs, keeps you out of the rain and hopefully gets you where you need to go. Don't take this wrong but my first impression was a dumpster with a motor in it. My best friend from high school used to never clean out his cars, sometimes you couldn't even get passengers in it. Yours isn't that bad.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I once owned a Vega wagon that had matching interior!! LOL! The vega was uglier outside though. It'll be ok.

Re: my new car... (uhhhhggglllyyyyy)
Don't look at it as ugly. Look at it as if you are to hit something it really won't upset you much. Also it is better then walking or taking the bus but then again walking is good for you. How about you put on a silver wig and act like an old man..

You may not be walking, but you may be pushing!
Kidding aside. I hope it serves you.

Re: my new car... (uhhhhggglllyyyyy)
well i cleaned it out this morning and gave it a bath. i washed it twice and still cant get it clean, have to go to the car wash and use a pressure washer i guess. i drove it around the block just to see how its gonna do. well, i got to the end of the driveway, looked around for cars, none at all(thank god). i hit the gas and i heard klunk klunk brrrrrrrrrraaaa then it went. lol but hey the brakes work good. i need to take the starter off and look because when you start it, it sounds like its getting stripped. i hope its not the flywheel. the car is front wheel drive and that would be hell to change. you have to ease on the gas, if you just hit it, i hear 2 loud klunks under the hood. any idea what that is? anyways heres some new pics. i got my radio and subs in. i figure if i gotta drive it at least i can have good music, only thing is theres no holes anywhere to run wires so the amp wire is running around the door. i listen to country but love bass so i gotta have my subs. and if your wondering why i put the subs in the back where nobody can get in, its because i dont want people saying"gimme a ride!!". and Real_McCoy, its not a loaner i am the proud owner .

John[/QUOTE] someof those cars had that weird radio pod or on a peddlestil thing at the end of the console. I have a confession. When I was 14 Me and a buddy took his grandmas out when it was 2 months old , and wrecked it back in 86'. talk about scared shi**less. we had it snuck out too. slammed a curb when the digital speedo said 60mph,.

Re: my new car... (uhhhhggglllyyyyy)
At 21 yrs old I double dutched the BUS for 1 yr. I'd be juiced to have that car at that time. If you can find wheel hubs that match it wouldn't look all that bad. YOU NEED TO HEAR THAT SONG FROM WILLIAM DEVaughn about now. "Thankful for what you got" It goes "DIAMOND IN THE BACK, SUNROOF TOP, DIG IN THE SCENE W/ A GANSTER LEAN................ETC.

and, the nice thing about a "not-so-pretty" car is that you can park right up front at Home Depot or Wally World and not worry about getting dings and scrapes from car doors or run-away shopping carts.

Re: my new car... (uhhhhggglllyyyyy)
Man...why first driver was an '82 Nissan Sentra....My older brother bought it new, then gave it to me in '90 when he bought a new Corrolla (I got that too 12 yrs later).
Anyway...that thing was a beater, but it ran EXTREMELY well..it had a 1500cc in it with a 5-speed, 168,000 miles and ran like a top !!! That thing was fun.....it would chirp 3rd gear, and the E-BRAKE worked really, really, WELL !!!!

Re: my new car... (uhhhhggglllyyyyy)
LOL! A 1974 Ford Pinto was my first car. My parents bought it from a county auction, and it happened to be a former drivers ed car at my school. Still had the brake on the passenger side. It cost $225 in 1989 and had 32000 original miles. I got license plates that said 225 PD4, and my brother and I put a tape deck, sparkotmatic eq-booster, and house speakers in it. When I drove it to football practice the O-line coach (who moolighted as the drivers ed teacher) couldnt believe it was back!
3 months later my brother drove it to DC and wrecked it
