Re: carpeted kick panels
Alex, contact member Bill Athey of Athey's Truck Parts. He sells nice carpeted kick panels and lower door bottoms for a great price. Make sure you match the loop or cut pile of your floor carpet. They are usually glued or held on with velcro. Spray glue is the easiest.

Re: carpeted kick panels
I used silicone to attach mine but they are starting to come off. I might use sheet metal screws and washers to fix it.

Re: carpeted kick panels
I had some in my 79 and didnt have them in my 82 and i found good and bad things inother words things i liked and didnt like IMHO carpeted panels dont look as good as metal how ever the do prevent the paint from getting scuffed and what scratched from work boots like mine or whatever you wear that will leave marks. On the other hand metal is better cause its a lower maintnance and scuffs can be removed. Guess im trying to say i prefer bare doors. In that area that is.

Re: carpeted kick panels
If you want to make your own and save a few bucks they're pretty easy, we made some for my wife's truck to cover the butchered speaker holes from the PO.

Re: carpeted kick panels
Got my kick panels from Atley's, but just got the plastic ones. I didn't want the covered ones. Just not to crazy about carpet on kick panels and doors. Sorry 70c10. I plan on installing them using GOOD Velcro straps. That way, easy removal if I have to get behind them for what ever reason.

Re: carpeted kick panels
I attatched my plastic kick panels with speakers to my kick panels. using sheet metal screws and they look awful. As my interior goes in I`ll be looking for another way to attatch these. Velcro souds good though.

Re: carpeted kick panels
I made them with some 1/8 thick particle board stuff I got at Home Depot, it was a sheet like 3'x3' or something for $5 a piece. Then we covered them in a matching green vinyl. I probably only have $20 in them. We made matching kick panels too.

Re: carpeted kick panels
i made mine from marine grade carpet from wal mart. maybe 5 bucks for a roll of it. just cut a cardboard templete to fit then cut carpet to match and used the spray glue, take your vent pull brackets off the kick panels and when u put em back on that helps to hold em, as for the bottoms of the doors i did the same way but i used small screws to help hold em, ill try and get a pic tommorow. powell those look very nice too, i couldnt see paying 30 sum bucks each for such a small piece of carpet, im a cheap-skate

Re: carpeted kick panels
I agree with with making your own. I bought a set, but after getting it I was thinking man that would be soooo easy to make for much less.
I haven't installed them yet Quote:

Re: carpeted kick panels
Thanks, I'm a cheapo too. I've got more time than money. I'd rather save my change for something I know I can't do.
