4x4 Power steering ?????

I know this has been asked but I can't remember. I have a 67 and 68 4x4. Will the power steering unit off a 72 4x4 work on either one of mine? Thanks Randy

it can be done but there are some modifications that must be made for it to function properly. i've done this same swap a few times but i always swapped over to a disc brake front axle at the same time. if you are interested you can call me and i'll explain how we did them- i type too slow to try and put all the information here, lol. my number is 925-634-2512 and i'm up til at least 9 p.m. ca. time, mon-fri i get home from work around 5 p.m.

I ordered a kit from Rez Engineering to do this upgrade. I know that you can just bush the steering box out to make it work but I wanted to increase the rigidity also. These frames are prone to cracking with oversize tires. The kit includes two steel plates, one for the inner frame and one for the outside of the frame. I don't have their phone number with me right now but if you want it let me know and I will dig it up.

THANKS EVERYONE,
Jerry I'll call you about this later on. I have the disc brake frontend to put in also so I might as well do it all. I have to get ahold of my mechanic to see when he's free. THANKS again to everyone. All input is appreciated!!! I'll check out what everyone has done. Randy

I have also done this swap on my 67. You will defintely need to space the steering box away from the frame or modify the frame to clear the buldge in the side of the steering box. As for the rest of the swap, I'm not sure what all is invloved if going with a stock type steering. I changed to a later disc Dana 44 and crossover steering when I did mine.
