Emblem question
Does anyone know the distance between emblem studs on the 4 wheel drive and the custom emblems shown below?
I am trying to fill the holes left behind by the V8- 350 emblem that was in the wrong location for my year truck when I bought a set of used fenders. Basically, what emblems would have the same post to post spacing as the 8-350 emblem? Thanks in advance! Last edited by kxnomore; 10-31-2007 at 04:36 PM. |

Re: Emblem question
Personally, I would run the 8-350 emblems below the custom like came on there, or weld them up, as to put non-original 4 wheel drive emblems in a incorrect spot as under the custom. I made that sound like the 4x4 emblems were not put on these trucks, they were, mostly on 6 cylinder trucks and 1970 and below, I believe is the concensus anyway. I can't tell if you have a Cheyenne or not from your avatar. If you do, you should have the Cheyenne emblem with nothing else unless Super if it's a Super. I have seen lot's of trucks with the 8-350 emblem under the Custom even Custom/deluxe emblems. The 4x4 emblem goes under the front marker light if a truck came with one. Hope this helps, but if you like it how you have it set up, it's your truck, that's what I like about these trucks. Trevor

Re: Emblem question
Thanks Trevor,
This truck is a Custom Camper K20. The original emblems were a CustomCamper/20 on the rear side of the fender and the 8-350 emblem under the marker. That was it. I have both of those on there now, but really don't have the money to weld up or repair two "surplus" holes under the CustomCamper/20 emblem. Those surplus holes used to have the 8-350 in them under a C-20 emblem from another truck. I think now I'll put the 8-350 under that emblem, and get the 4 Wheel Drive emblem for under the marker. Either that or just break down and fix the holes. Anybody have any pics of the 4 wheel drive emblem installed, and is it only for a blazer? |

Re: Emblem question
In 69/70 the there wasn`t a CheyenneSuper or CustomDeluxe...no two word names. They satated dsignating optional motors in`69 and put the badge under the C/10,Custom/10,CustomCamper/10,or CST/10 badge. The 4wds has a designate badge under the marker light in those years.
In`71 the CheyenneSuper and CustomDeluxes came out which required an additional badge for these names,"Super" and "Deluxe".The badges took over the engine designate holes, the engine designate was moved to under the marker light, and the 4 Wheel Drive badge was dropped.
