Help me troubleshoot my non-working horn - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I'm slowly but surely trying to get all of the little things fixed and working properly on my 85. Next thing is the horn. Can someone please tell me how to troubleshoot the horn to try and find out what's wrong with it. Initially there was only one horn on it, but I went and got another one and got it on and plugged up. No sound what-so-ever. So, where do I start, with the horn itself? What can I do to see if the horn works and where do I go after doing that? Thanks for your help. P.S. I am electronically ignant.

First - make sure power is getting to it (them) when you press the horn button.

Have someone listen closely. If little or no sound happens. Look for a little screw (almost looks like a cross topped rivet) This is used to tune horns. Turn this till you like the sound. I've also heard you can shoot some WD40 into the horn to loosen things up.

do you have a test lite? ground one end and stuff the other in the plug for the horn have someone hold the horn button down see if there is power ( it lites up) plug the horn back in then go up to the horn fuse and relay in the fuse box and make sure current is gettng in there the next step is to pull the wheel and make sure the ire sticking up is there and then try to move the wire to make contact and if that is good the horn will sound making the problem the steering wheel switch

You said the horn relay is in the fuse box? What does it look like?
