Had some time to wirebrush, scrub, sand, and paint a little.

Good ole Rustoleum 'Satin Black' - went on nicely.

Several hours on both Sat and Sun.

This coming weekend I plan on having the straight 6 painted up nice and installed - and with Mon and Tue off(work), maybe even started up!

Drill/wire brush, scotch bright(red pads), Lowe's paint gun(which worked very well btw), and borrowed 20 year old compressor.

That looks great! Nothing like a little elbow grease and a fresh coat of paint to get things going. Post pictures of that straight 6 when you get it painted up!

They sell the Rustoleum in spray cans also. Same paint just in a spray can.. You have to get the comercial paints... Home Depot carries it out here..

Yep - that's where I got it(1 qrt), and like you said I'll be able to get it in rattle can form to do touch ups down the road.

I was going to use chassis black that I used to get for $18 a gallon at the local paint and body supply place, but now it's $99!!! $45 a qt. Crazy..
