emergency brake help

I am doing the brakes on my k20 and decided to get a new e-brake set up too. The old one was seized up and cables were broke. Any way got my rear drums off and the PO had already abandoned the e-brakes, cut them off clean inside the drums. I don't have any diagrams of the internal brakes, ie- what goes where. Some one have one they could post? or pics of how the e-brakes get hook up inside the drums?

Thanks, Jeff

Re: emergency brake help

Here is a pic I found of the right side and it looks like a K axle. If you notice the e-brake cable comes theough the backing plate and hooks to the green arm which is connected to the rear shoe. There is a flat arm that is circled that connects the front and rear shoes. HTH

Re: emergency brake help

Thank you very much, looks like I am missing a few parts then. I had a feeling I was when I got the drum off and saw what I had to work with.

Nice to here from some one in your home town,

Re: emergency brake help

I was just looking closer at the set up posted, doesn't quite look like the set up I have. Mine rear looks almost identical to the front axle. I did take a pic of the front axle before I redid that, looks like this--

Re: emergency brake help

The two look similar enough though, I wonder if I can find the missing parts at napa.

Re: emergency brake help

Since you are a subscriber you can post a Want to buy ad in the classified section and I know that somebody will have all the parts you need. They are small so shipping wouldn't be an issue. Heck they might even send them to you if you paid the shipping.

Re: emergency brake help

Hey Ace,

FYI, when posting that WTB, include that pic that you had in your thread. That'll give someone an idea of what your missing

Good Luck
