Re: Please Post Lowered Stepside Pictures!!!
Hey Guys,
In consideration of those nice step side lowered trucks, what are you doing with your fuel fill. 1st question. Wood or Steel beds? Jugernut, I see you shaved your side fuel fill. I am doing a leaf spring to trailing arm swap and I am going to go with a super track bar from Early Classics. In addition, ECE sells a shock relocation setup and to get another inch or so they also sell a drop trailing arm cross member. I understand that with the super track bar, I should be around the 6 inch drop in the rear. As for the front, I have 3 inch drop springs. As far as wheels....hmmmmm, haven't decided yet. I've got 6 lugs all the way around, so my choices get slim. Someone suggested 265/60/18. It's got me thinking. But first, I gotta get her running. I decided to re-wire. She was in bad shape when I got her but she's home now for allot of TLC. I be sure to send pictures after I do the trailing arm swap. Hey 70C10, how long have you been in Lompoc? Was stationed at Vandenberg for 2 years. 1981/1982. Good Luck Harry

Re: Please Post Lowered Stepside Pictures!!!
my ride...
2.5" drop springs front, 5" drop springs on back. the rear will not go down as much as 5" springs should be letting it. have not been able to figure that one out so I am going to go with some 2" blocks. 275/60/15's and 15 x 10 Covette Rallyes. Wood bed, no rear bumper (going with sport bumper after I get some brackets) Last edited by tcb-1; 11-04-2007 at 08:42 AM. |

Re: Please Post Lowered Stepside Pictures!!!
tcb-1,
Still looking for for rear sport bumper brackets? Try Athey's Classic Truck Parts (I believe there site vendors) Last time I checked and inquired, they said $60.00 for the pair (4 pcs). Number is 540-636-7405 or 866-469-8824 See website for hours of operation. They have strange hours. http://www.s-c-t-p.com/index.html Good Luck Harry

Re: Please Post Lowered Stepside Pictures!!!
Sweet. Vandy Land is a great place. We lived in the base Trailer Park. 687 Carissa Lane - maybe you can take a digital pic of the ole' place and email it. Sure would appreciate it. I worked with the Titan II Missile (now deactivated) I was Active Duty for 10 years. Now, I am a Disabled Vet (100%), retired, and just enjoying life.
Do they still cruise H Street on Friday Nights? Back in the days, it was great watching all the trucks and lowriders. My Step Side project is going slow but with the swap of leafs to trailing arms and the re-wiring it takes time. Time is something right now I definetly have. I'll send you pictures. I'm gonna setup a photo bucket account Thanks Harry htccopyguy@aol.com

Re: Please Post Lowered Stepside Pictures!!!
You guys are really getting me motivated... I know I made the right decision now selling my 67 f100 to get my 70 c10.... I have been a Ford guy for a long time but nothing beats a chevy step side to me... My grandfather had one and I loved it as a kid...

Re: Please Post Lowered Stepside Pictures!!!
Thanks for the motivation guys.... I had a rough day with my foose wheels not fitting... I got even and bought me a set of chrome american racing rally wheels 15x8. I should have stuck with the old school look from the beginning... I will leave the bling bling alone for now!!!

Re: Please Post Lowered Stepside Pictures!!!
Glad you stuck with the old school look. I think it suits these trucks much better than the big wheel look.
