Check out the 72 GMC I picked up last week
Looking to make this truck my daily driver. Supposedly it is a 61k original mile/paint truck that has only had rocker installed then a grey stripe along the bottom and some stick on trim. The truck has a 250 6 cyl w/ 3 speed manual with only 2 options of gauges and leaf springs in the rear.
This is my first 67-72 Chevy and I like it pretty well. What do you guys think. Also, tell me what you think it is worth, I think I paid to much but want some input from some people who know thier stuff. here are some pics http://rides.webshots.com/album/561302921rywRXP Last edited by grancuda; 11-07-2007 at 08:14 PM. I like it.
It looks like a good straight unmolested, nearly original truck. Those are getting harder to find these days.

Re: Check out the 72 GMC I picked up last week
I ended up giving $3500 for it and he was asking $4000 originally. I figured it was a fair price because it is in good shape and is pretty clean and original.
Also, I searched on here but didn't come up with anything, I am curious of what kind of steering wheel I can put in it. I would like about a 14-15 inch wheel and really want to stick with a stock looking wheel. Will the Camaro (67-69) or Chevelle (66-69) or even Corvette wheels bolt up without a problem? I have been looking on ebay and it seems for 100 or less I can get one of those that are decent. |

i always like seeing bare bones trucks, i think it's kind of neat. I think the price was fair.

Re: Check out the 72 GMC I picked up last week
Nice truck. $3500.00 is a good price for a straight truck. Any steering wheel will fit with the right hub attachment. My steering wheel is for a corvette. What a truck is worth is what you pay for it.

It sucks not being able to hear! LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB! After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs. |

Re: Check out the 72 GMC I picked up last week
How do you like your TBI set up w/overdrive? Do you get decent mileage out of it? I am considering doing a swap like that into mine or just putting a 350 w/ the stock 3 speed. Not sure yet, the more I drive it the more I want to just put a petronix set up and maybe an updated carb set up. don't know yet but I have to swap out the steering wheel first!
