Hood Hinge broke

well today after school i lifted my hood and my hood hinge was no longer welded together. The po decided that a new hood hinge was to much so he decided just to weld it and did one hell of a job!!

Looks like the tin man took a cr*p on it.... Look in the parts board and buy a replacement.

Re: Hood Hinge broke

Do you have any self service junkyards?? You can find something there. I'd recommend checking junkyards anyways, you never know what kind of jewels you will find.

Re: Hood Hinge broke

OUCH, 60 miles? What did he say he would sting you for it?

Check the classifieds, do a search "hood hinge" in the 67-72 parts forum and you will find folks selling them.

Re: Hood Hinge broke

I'm glad the hood didn't open up on you. The rivet wore loose on mine and the the hood became unlatched on me while driving on the freeway. Lucky no wrecks or damage.

Re: Hood Hinge broke

The PO didn't know how to weld that is for sure. A thought came to mind while looking at the pictures. Have you looked over your truck for other things the PO may have welded or repaired? Could be a life saver I know I would take the time to do this if I saw this on my truck.

esll.
