Ever since I installed my 4 inch suspension lift I have had a sag in my rear leaf springs. My truck was stored for 10 years with a heavy chain in the box. We rearched the springs before installing. I have been running 305x70R16 and I like the look of the smaller wheel well with that size of tire. I still kick myself for not going with 35"s. I was wondering if I could drop the front end to match the rear.
I am going to swap my sbc for a blown bbc 427. I would think that the bbc should drop the front end a little. Although there is like 6 leafs in the front and only 3 in the back.
Hear are my measurements to the top of the wheeel well.
FD 43.75
FP 43.75
RD 41.5
RP 42

You could install an add a leaf in the rear to raise the rear of the truck just a little bit.

Maybe even a small block in the back.I'd raise the back a little before lowering the front down..You payed to raise it so why lower it down? This way you can fit a bigger tire on if you upgrade in the future..

If you like the ride get an ORD zero rate. It wil lift your rear 1", and not change your ride, or shocks or brake lines etc.

I wouldn't touch the front springs if you are dropping a big block in there. That should drop the front down by an inch at least.

I certainly wouldn't drop it before adding the engine because it will drop more with the wieght of the big block on it. Then you will be putting spring back in to lift it up again.

Leave it be for now!

Ya, I thought a big block would drop it down a little.
The whole problem with the 1"spacer is I already have a 4" block in the back. I could do add a leaf but I am just going wait for the big block swap..

I have tried rearched springs and dont like them. I put a set on and within a year they were sagging and not sitting level. The spring shop said old springs don't hold up well and relax differently. By old i mean 30 years old.

So I put a new set of springs on and everything id good.
