What did I do today.

This is not my truck and it's not snowing here, but it's that time of year again to get the trucks ready for winter storage. Checked tire pressures, topped up the fuel and added fuel stablelizer then put the truck cover on the 50.' My insurrance runs out on the 70' at the end of the month and then I'll start this procedure all over again. Where did the year go it seams like yesterday that I insured them and now it's time to renew my storage policy.

Well here's to looking forward to next year, when the truck covers come off and the crusing starts again.

esll.

What is this "snow" you speak of? Sounds like it can spoil a good drive.

Not manna from heaven that's for sure. We get mostly rain and a skim of snow not like it was when I was a young'n [snowed big time.] I'm mostly concerned about fuel going bad or getting low so I top it up so I can start the trucks up over the winter.

Ok, I admit it were wimps up here, all this talk about living in igloo's is crap, were the cali. of Canada on the west coast.

Re: What did I do today.

My truck is not here...being re-done in the same environment in which I kept it. BUT, I spent yesterday in shorts and a t-shirt and that's just not what I remember this time of year being like when I was a kid. So, what's with this Global Warming thingy?? The last big snow we had in AR was the winter of 2000/2001. We had it then, though....ice, ice, ice, snow, ice, ice....don't care for it, at all. Snow is preferred, over ice, every time.

But I prefer days in the mid-seventies, with cool evenings...cool enough for a campfire to get warm by. Wonder where that place is??? Yeah, year-round. Was there any doubt??

Re: What did I do today.

Mines in the body shop right now but I'm glad I don't have to park it for the winter. I have storage space for it though when it gets back home. It's not heated except for a space heater. That may change after this winter though. If it get's where I can't work inside then I'll add a propane heater.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: What did I do today.

My truck, well actually frame is setting in the garage waiting for me to come out and play. Bring on the snow, i cant wait. We dont get much but i love it when we do. The whitetails are in pre-rut and im tired of bowhunting in this 50 and 60 degree weather. I do feel for the poor guys with beautiful trucks like yourselves that have to put them up for the winter. I hope to be in the same boat someday when my project is finished.

What is it in BC that keeps the classics inside for winter? Is it the rain or do you see snow or ice?

Re: What did I do today.

Snow is not the norm so people panic and drive like idiots, they have no idea how to drive on ice or snow so it's best to park your baby and not give them a target. I rather park it for a few months than and know its safe and sound !!

its not the snow, its all the salt the city throws on the street to melt it that is really bad for the cars and trucks

Re: What did I do today.

I pity all those who have to put their trucks away I have to deal with snow/ice once every couple years for a day or two, and I don't drive anywhere those days 'cause people down here forget how to drive when it does

I do feel your pain though. I'm grew up in the lake effect capitol of the northeast, just south of Buffalo. In a good year my truck was only off the road for 6 months, usually late october to late april/early may.

Re: What did I do today.

On the Island where I live some areas are almost at sea level and black ice is pretty common and lots of spots hydroplaneing exists and is quite dangerous. Allot of the driving conditions here are hazardous and by the time you see them it's usually too late. Another facter that you have to deal with all the time here are the deer as they are everwhere and more so in winter and they roam all over the place. I only have to go outside my door to see deer right on my street. The city is beautiful and I would never think of living anywhere else as Island life is different then the big cities but having said that winter crusing is no fun.

I guess my real [main] reason is I really do not enjoy cleaning my truck all the time because of road salt and sand. Getting lazy in my old age.

Re: What did I do today.

Or you can embrace winter with your truck. I use it all the time in the winter - only not on the salt covered streets. Instead of driving up the driveway, I go the other way out on to the lake.

Same problem here. I'm sure you heard of Raleigh being shut down a few years ago because of ice. The main problem is the people moving here from up north. Driving on snow and driving on ice are two COMPLETELY different things.

Was it that ice storm that shut most everything down in most of the southeast? I had to stay with my fiances parents for a week because I didn't have power. Some people didn't have power for a month. Duke power and Progress energy had their work cut out for them! It was weird seeing Greenville "deserted" and dark. Most traffic lights didn't work for about a week either. I was one of about 3 people who came to work everyday

Re: What did I do today.

No, this was about 1/4" of ice. It happened right after lunch and before rush hour hit. Kids were trapped in schools, hotels were packed, some people sat in traffic for 14 hours, etc. All over 1/4" of ice. Ya just can't drive on the stuff, 4 x 4 or not.
