fabing trailing arms

Im thinking about fabing up my own trailing arms. Has anyone done this and have pics? Im thinking about 2x3 boxed tubing and giving it a try. I thought about running a triangulated 4 link but i want to stick with coils in the rear and cant find any pics of how anyone has done this since the coils are normally mounted to the trailing arms and i cant talk myself into spending the jack on coilovers so i can run the 4 link, although christmas is just around the corner and i need to find a present for myself. Im one of those that has always built it instead of buying it if i can, just so i can say its "custom".

Re: fabing trailing arms

A friend of mine & I are currently doing this. He owns a race car shop (chassis/narrowed rearends/mustang II front ends/etc...) I bought 2x3 square tubing (has to be narrowed in front to mount if I remember him saying) then I bought D.O.M. tubing for the U-bolt & coil spring holes. He say's they are a breeze to do, but we haven't started yet... Only verbalized the plan and bought materials so far.

Re: fabing trailing arms

Do a search.I`ve been wondering what happened to the fabricator guy in CA that was planning to make bowed arms out of stainless. He had been making the prototypes and had lots of pics.

Re: fabing trailing arms

I can probably hook you up with a set of these for about $200 plus shipping. They are off a nascar craftsman truck. I will know in a week of two how they fit but they are the same length as the stockers. They are 2x3" tubing.
