Custom vs CST

What exactly are the differences in a C-10, Custom 10, and a CST 10?
Is it just rime levels, or are there any machanical differences anywhere?
Could I trim up my 69 and stick CST emblems on it justifiably?

Re: Custom vs CST

Here is the options list of the CST package. There are some variations though. I have a '69 CST that only came with lower body side moldings. It did not have the upper molding. It does have every other option on the list including the bucket seats though.

Re: Custom vs CST

The SPID sheet will list what it came with, from the factory. Back in the day, a lot of stuff could be added on at the dealership, that would never show up on the SPID.

I don't think that a CST had a different body style number than the base truck did. It was just on the SPID that the options were shown. For that matter, you can make an SPID sheet that will what you want to show on it.

It's kinda like the early days of the muscle cars. Until the '66's came out, a GTO was just an option on the base Tempest. In '66, it had it's own body style number, so a clone can be determined by that style number, compared to a clone of a '64 or '65. These truck bodies can be trimmed as we want them to be, in accordance with our own tastes and desires.
